Tips for Preventing Calluses & Corns
The biggest factor for developing calluses and corns is ill-fitting footwear. Any area where pressure or friction occurs repeatedly is at risk for callus or corn development. When choosing your shoes, make sure that they are comfortable and do not rub against your feet. Also, try to avoid walking outside barefoot for prolonged periods of time. This type of pressure and friction will cause your skin to thicken and harden to protect itself. In time, this skin will become a callus or a corn.
