Pomegranate Power

Pomegranate has had a surge in popularity in the last decade and, while some "miracle ingredients" come and go, here is why we feel pomegranate is a superfruit that’s here to stay.

Since ancient times, the pomegranate has been used to treat conditions from arthritis to circulation disorders.  While more modern research needs to be done, early indications are that the pomegranate can help to improve blood flow to the heart and minimize plaque build up in the blood vessels.  It may also help to keep cholesterol in a less damaging form (lower LDL or “bad” cholesterol).  Studies even show that pomegranate, with its high antioxidants, can inhibit cancer in laboratory animals.  So, whether you choose to eat the seeds or drink the juice, adding some pomegranate to your diet is a great idea.

In addition to the health benefits listed above, we’ve chosen pomegranate as an ingredient in our skin care line because of its healing and moisturizing properties.  Because the pomegranate is loaded with polyphenols, it protects the skin from free radical damage, cell wall deterioration and even improves the effectiveness of sunscreen.  The oil also soaks deep into the skin to relieve dryness.  All of these benefits combine to provide softer, younger and healthier-looking hands and feet!
